Neymar: Brazilian Soccer Star Owes Millions In Taxes — Will He Go To Jail?

Uh-oh! Brazilian soccer star Neymar is in big trouble with the government after not paying his taxes for millions of dollars! Will he be facing jail time? HollywoodLife.com has all the details here.
Neymar, 24, has a lot of explaining to do! The Brazilian soccer player’s assets have been frozen because he apparently owes millions in taxes! That doesn’t sound good for Neymar. Read for more details on the case.Another part of the assets that are frozen are three companies belonging to his family. Prosecutors are also accusing him of setting up those companies just so he can pay a lower tax rate. Things just keep getting worse and worse!
The court is demanding that Neymar pay 63.6 million reias ($16 million dollars) in allegedly undeclared taxes and have frozen his assets until he does. He could still appeal the decision and fortunately most likely won’t face jail time, an auditor with the federal tax agency revealed to the Associated Press. “If he pays what he owes, the case is closed,” the auditor shared. “Our legislation isn’t too harsh.”
That’s not the only dilemma Neymar is in! Earlier this month, him and his father were questioned in a Madrid court over separate allegations of corruption and fraud surrounding his transfer to FC Barcelona. So far, Neymar has denied any wrongdoing on his part in any of these cases. Let’s just hope those taxes will be payed for the sake of soccer!
