Paris Saint-Germain has named Unai Emery as the club's new head coach, following the departure of Laurent Blanc.

The Spanish coach, who left Sevilla following the 2015-16 season, has signed a deal until June 2018.

Emery arrives at the Parc des Princes as the three-time defending champion of the Europa League after leading the Andalusian club to three consecutive European titles.

PSG's Qatari owners are dedicated to securing European success for the capital club at the highest level, with Blanc's dismissal largely down to his exploits in the Champions League after 11 trophies and two trebles during his three years with the club.

The mammoth wealth of the French team means Emery has been appointed in a bid to reach the summit of Europe's elite competition.

The Spaniard previously spent one season in Russia with Spartak Moscow and also has enjoyed spells with Valencia and Almeria.
